Established in 2026, the MikeWorldWide Fellowship will award one student who is pursuing a major in public relations, communications, journalism, marketing, or related fields. This fellowship will award one student with a $2,500 scholarship and a paid ten-week full time internship with MikeWorldWide in Los Angeles, CA or New York, NY.

Scholarship Criteria:

Judges will be looking for applicants who meet the following criteria:

  • A registered full-time undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited college or university.
  • A rising senior or graduating senior.
  • Pursuing a major in public relations, communications, journalism, marketing, or related fields..
  • A GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale.
  • Authorized to work in the United States, have a state-issued ID and second form of identification for hourly work.
  • Ability to work in person in MikeWorldWide’s office in Los Angeles, CA or New York, NY three days per week
  • A strong desire and passion to be an effective communicator and creative thinker
  • The ability to prioritize multiple assignments; be detail-focused, organized, and deadline-oriented with strong time management skills
  • Proficient knowledge of full Microsoft Office Suite as well popular social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, LinkedIn, X, TikTok, etc.)
      • Preferred, but not required: Experience with AI and media tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Muck Rack, Meltwater, NewsWhip, etc.)
      • Preference will be given to PRSSA members.

          • Who or what is your dream client (it does not have to be an existing MWW client) and why? What do you envision your role being for them?
          • Where do you get your news from? Why these specific outlets / channels?
          • Reflect on a time—whether during a group project, internship, extracurricular activity, or sports team—when you made a mistake, such as an error in judgment, a misstep, or falling short of your expectations. In 500 words or less, explain how you addressed the situation, what you learned from it, and how it has shaped (or will shape) your future approach to challenges or decision-making in a professional environment.

      Internship Salary: $20.00/hour

      Internship Schedule: Tuesday, June 2 - Friday, August 7, Monday - Thursday: 9 AM - 5 PM (with a 1hr lunch); Friday: 9 AM - 2 PM (no lunch break)
