NEW YORK, NY (Nov. 6, 2017) – The PRSA Foundation, the leading nonprofit public relations organization focused on increasing diversity in the public relations field, announced its first-ever Giving Tuesday campaign, launching today and culminating on Giving Tuesday, which is celebrated on Nov. 28th.

The Foundation’s goal is to raise $10,000 to support its work in promoting diversity and inclusion among public relations/communication professionals and organizations.

Giving Tuesday, created in 2012 by New York’s 92nd Street Y and the United Nations Foundation, is a global day dedicated to charitable giving, taking place directly following Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Last year, Giving Tuesday raised $177 million through online fundraising efforts.

“I am proud that PRSA has joined the national #GivingTuesday movement,” said Judith Harrison, President, PRSA Foundation, “underscoring the paramount importance of the Foundation’s mission: to educate and empower aspiring diverse talent to rise and join the ranks of public relations leaders in a rapidly changing business environment.”
