Established in 2024, the Just Drive Media Communications Fellowship will award one BIPOC identified student annually who is pursuing a career in public relations, journalism, advertising, marketing, or communications. This fellowship includes a $5,000 scholarship and a paid eight-week full-time remote internship with Just Drive Media.

Scholarship Criteria:

Judges will be looking for applicants who meet the following criteria:

  • A registered full-time undergraduate student at an accredited college or university.
  • A rising junior or senior.
  • BIPOC identified.
  • Pursuing a major or minor in journalism, public relations, advertising, marketing, or communications.
  • A GPA of 3.3 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
  • Previous internship experience and/or completion of relevant coursework. PRSSA
    membership will also be considered.
  • Authorized to work in the United States, have a state-issued ID and second form of identification for hourly work.

Application:

  • The completed online application form.
  • A resume.
  • A personal statement of 300-500 words on the following:
    • Why do you want to intern with Just Drive Media?
    • What are your career goals?
    • What kind of class and client work are you most interested in?
    • What interests you about the industry?
    • What is your dream account?
  • A brief statement of financial need.
  • Two work samples (Releases, pitches, media strategy, course work, etc.).
  • Optional: additional work samples.
  • Optional: a letter of recommendation.

This scholarship is funded by Just Drive Media.

Internship Salary: $16/hour

Internship Start Date: Summer 2024, flexible start date, May/June preferred.
