The Key PR Fellowship

Established in 2025, The Key PR Fellowship will award one BIPOC-identified or first-generation college student pursuing a major in public relations, marketing, or communications a $10,000 scholarship, a $4,000 stipend, and a paid eight-week internship with The Key PR in San Francisco, CA.

About The Key PR:

The Key has launched dozens of startups, built brands, and created multi-dimensional communications programs for a wide range of companies. Our mission is to empower people and companies to unlock their best through high-impact, low-b.s. communications. At the heart of our programs are sharp strategy, story development, thoughtful media outreach, and real consultation. With a strong focus on early-stage tech, we also dabble in consumer, nonprofit, and social impact work, along with PR strategy and support for many well-established companies.

Scholarship Criteria:

Judges will be looking for applicants who meet the following criteria:

  • A registered full-time undergraduate student at an accredited college or university.
  • A rising junior or senior.
  • BIPOC identified and/or first-generation college student (a student whose parent(s) have not earned a four-year college degree in the United States.
  • Pursuing a major in public relations, marketing, or communications.
  • A GPA of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
  • Ability to work in person at The Key PR's office in San Francisco, CA three days per week.
  • Authorized to work in the United States, have a state-issued ID and second form of identification for hourly work.
  • Preference will be given to candidates pursuing a career in technology public relations and the technology industry.

This scholarship is funded by The Key PR.

Internship Salary: $20.00/hour
